Anxieties...
In the book of Exodus, the children of Israel and Aron created an idol. A god. The gold calf to bow to, praise and pray to. He asked them all to take off their earrings and jewelry that was made of gold and there he created/ made a false god.
The number one worry in America are financial worries. Money problems. They worry when will be my next paycheck? How am I going to pay for the power bill? What can we afford to eat tonight? Worrying turns into something much bigger than people realize, and that is anxiety.
Anxiety separates and shakes the mind. It allows for your mind to be on nothing other than whatever you are worrying about. Therefore, it allows no room for your mind to be on God.
To put these two points together, money, a career, fame, alcohol and other substances, etc. Can be misplaced as the center of people's worries and lives. If anything other than our Lord is the center of our minds and our lives that is sin. Excessive anxieties about these idolatries are also sin. ...For the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God... (Exodus 34.14)
Think about this.... the scripture is Mathew 6.26-27. For the birds in the sky do not get to pray or worship the Lord. They are birds so they don't even know their father and for that matter have a relationship with him. However, they get fed. They get shelter. They get water. Jesus said: “Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"
In conclusion, worrying leads to anxiety and anxiety is the enemy. It is the thought of the untouchable, the unknown of the future. That is why we let God take care of it. I mean only he knows the future. For he is so faithful and so loving. He protects us with his great strength and wisdom. There is no other God but him. For be mindful when liking something...be careful not to idolize it without even realizing it. For that is a sin and honestly unfair to our Father. We as humans are his greatest creation, for he values us more than we might understand. For when our minds are worrying it clogs our ears and blinds our eyes. For when our minds and hearts are solely focused on him, we can discern him more than ever.
For there is no reason to worry but every reason to pray.
Sincerly,
Yours truly.
